The ideal candidate will be required to perform maintenance on trucks and trailers. Will work with the Shop Lead to ensure the company delivers on its promises to our customer base, through the up keep our our equipment. This person will be required to perform PM maintenance, required maintenance, and work with the Shop Lead on developing strategies to improve uptime and reduce/contained costs.
Experience is preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and repair tractors, trailers, and reefers
- Create computer generated work orders and billing out parts
- Able to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Communicate with staff and drivers in a professional manner on a daily basis
- Communicate with shop lead on deficiencies and solutions
- Keep a clean and safe working environment
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the essential functions of this job, employee is regularly required to lift, move or carry objects up to 100 lbs; ascend or descend ladders, stairs; utilize feet and legs or hands and arms; maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, or navigating narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces; bend body downward and forward by bending spine and legs; move about on hands and knees or hands and feet; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and to reach with hands and arms.
- While performing the essential functions of this position the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic substances, excessive noise, and dampness/humidity. While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly exposed to possible bodily injury from electrical shock; and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, and machinery
