Carlos Druet Named 2023 Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguished Driver of the Year

On Saturday, Kottke Trucking had the honor of naming Carlos Druet the 2023 Duane & Connie Kottke Distinguished Driver of the Year. Druet was the tenth ever recipient of the award. Thank you, Carlos, for #BleedingBlue!

 

The Driver of the Year award is named after our second-generation visionaries: Duane and Connie Kottke. The foundation that they built for our company is what we stand on today.

 

The nominees for the award come from the year’s quarterly recipients of the Jim Doering Award of Excellence. The Jim Doering Award of Excellence recipients for 2023 were Keith Bonsignore, David Lewis, Carlos Druet and Jason Heyers. The quartely award is named after Kottke Trucking’s first employee and nearly 40-year employee Jim Doering.

 

Previous winners of the Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguised Driver of the Year are Tom Erickson, Rick Pautzke, Jeff Bass, Carlo Garcia, John Flathau, Sam Harman, Boogs Fellows, Rick Sare and Ettienne Alberts.

Kottke Trucking’s Trucks and Toys Toy Drive Raises $8,844

We always try to make the holidays a little bit brighter and we would like to thank everyone that helped us do just that! With the help of Kottke Trucking employees, friends and family, we were able to raise $8,844 worth of toys and goods. The donations went to our friends at Santa’s Closet of Renville County in Minnesota and The Mission of Winter Haven in Florida.

 

Our Trucks and Toys toy drive is one of the things that was nearest and dearest to Duane and Connie. It warms our hearts every single year the way that those around us help support this endeavor. Thank you so much! May your light shine bright this holiday season! Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas!

Zach Little Promoted to Chief Operating Officer

This week Kottke Trucking, Inc. announced the promotion of Zach Little to Chief Operating Officer (COO). Little has most recently been serving as the company’s Vice President of Operations.

With the promotion, Little will take on more responsibility in the planning and strategy of the company going forward. Little will continue to lead the company’s Truckload, LTL, Dock, Technology, Brokerage, Shop, and Sales teams in addition to his new responsibilities.

Little has been in the trucking industry for 37 years. He turned 21 in March of 1985 and was on the road by May of 1985. Little joined the Kottke team in 2016 and has been integral to the growth of the business since.

Kottke Trucking Announces Driver Pay Increase, Driver Pay Up 33% In Last 10 Months

Kottke Trucking is proud to announce our fourth driver pay increase in the past year. As we strive to continually improve our offerings to our drivers, we have increased driver pay 33% in the last 10 months alone.

Alongside with these pay increases, we have also formulated categories to better define our drivers’ roles in our expanded portfolio. We now offer 13 different driving categories to match the wants and needs of our driving family.

Kottke Trucking names Boogs Fellows and Rick Sare as Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguished Drivers of the Year

On February 12, 2022, we had the honor of naming two more Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguished Drivers of the Year! Congratulations to Robert “Boogs” Fellows for being named the 2020 recipient and to Rick Sare for being named the 2021 recipient! A special thank you to Boogs’ family for being in attendance to accept the award in his memory and honor. Thank you, Boogs and Rick, for #BleedingBlue!

Kottke Trucking’s Driver Board created the idea of the Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguished Driver of the Year and it was carried out by our staff. Mona Dornbusch named Jim Doering Award of Excellence Recipient

Kottke Trucking is proud to announce Mona Dornbuscg as the recipient of the Jim Doering Award of Excellence for the 4th Quarter of 2021.

Mona’s nominator said: “Mona continually displays professional qualities in everything she does. Every task no matter how unpleasant is met with her signature ‘Can DO’ spirit. She sets a true bleeding blue example for others to follow.”

The Jim Doering Award of Excellence was established in 2014 in honor of Kottke Trucking’s first employee and nearly 40-year employee Jim Doering. The award is designed to honor a driver each quarter that has the same great qualities that made Jim such a special man. Mona is the 4th Quarter recipient for this award and is now a finalist for the Duane and Connie Kottke Distinguished Driver of the Year Award.
